Note that you can find each program's detailed admission requirements for your province or territory in our National Admissions e-brochure. You can also request a paper copy of this brochure.

  1. Look up the required Ontario courses for the program(s) you wish to apply to.

  2. Select your province or territory from the list below.

  3. Find the equivalent required course(s).

  4. Note that Advanced Placement courses may be substituted for required courses.

  • Physical Education 30 and Career and Technology Studies courses are not acceptable academic courses.
  • For admission purposes, two 3-credit 30-level academic courses may be considered equivalent to one 5-credit 30-level academic course.

Other minimum requirements

  • High School diploma with 4 academic courses at the Grade 12 level.
  • Provincial exams are not required, except for Grade 12 English.
  • If you write a provincial exam, your better grade – either your in-class school grade or your final grade (blended school and exam mark) – will be used for admission and scholarship decisions.
  • For Grade 12 English, your final grade (blended school and exam mark) will be used.
  • Courses such as Law 12, Comparative Civilizations 12, and Social Justice 12 are acceptable academic courses for admission consideration.
  • For the new mathematics curriculum, the Mathematics 12 requirement listed above is equivalent to either of the new courses Foundations of Mathematics 12 or Pre-Calculus Mathematics 12.
  • While British Columbia has automatic electronic submission of your grades, they will not arrive in time for our admissions decisions. You'll need to ask your school to send us a transcript of your final semester mid-term marks.
