President’s Scholarship of Distinction

$2,000 Entrance Scholarship;

$1,500 International Experience Award*  and/or;

$1,500 Research Award*, or both

Open to students admitted to full-time first-year degree studies at Waterloo who are beginning post-secondary studies for the first time in fall 2013.

  • Early May admission average of 95%+

*Note: The International Experience Award and/or Research Award are available in your upper years if you choose to claim them and if you complete your first year with at least an 80% average. The International Experience Award is available only to Canadian citizens or permanent residents.

Project Hero Award

Value of full-time tuition and compulsory fees for up to 8 study terms. Value of on-campus residence fees and the equivalent of a regular or average meal plan for the first year of study (2 terms). 

Restricted to dependants of Canadian military personnel deceased while serving on an active mission

  • under 26 years of age
  • enrolling as a full-time undergraduate student at the University of Waterloo, in a program of study eligible for funding by the province of Ontario
  • An application is required by June 15


Schulich Leader Scholarship
Two valued at up to $60,000 over 4 years at the University of Waterloo 
  • Open to students applying to programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.  
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
  • Candidates must possess at least two of the following three attributes:
    • Exceptional high academic grades
    • Demonstrated leadership in school life and community life, or provided evidence of entrepreneurial talent
    • Financial need
  • Students must be nominated by their high school or CEGEP in order to be considered by Waterloo.
  • Speak to your high school administration to learn how you can become the Schulich Leader Nominee for your school.
  • The high school nomination deadline is February 5, 2013.
