Residence Header

University is about broadening all your horizons – not just the academic ones! And where you live plays an important role in new experiences you’ll treasure for a lifetime. This site will help you find out what you need to know about living at Waterloo.

First-year students are guaranteed residence!

Guaranteed residences: Waterloo Residences, Renison, St. Jerome’s, St. Paul’s

You’re guaranteed a place in one of these residences if

  • you're admitted to a first-year program, and
  • you receive an Offer of Admission dated no later than May 24, 2012, and
  • you accept your Offer of Admission by June 1, 2012, and
  • you submit your Residence Community Ranking Form and a $500 non-refundable deposit no later than 11:59 pm Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on June 1, 2012, and
  • you meet any conditions outlined on your Offer of Admission.

This guarantee applies ONLY to

  • Waterloo Residences (Columbia Lake Village-South, Mackenzie King Village, Ron Eydt Village, UW Place, Village 1)
  • Renison
  • St. Jerome's
  • St. Paul's

Additional residence: Conrad Grebel

  • Conrad Grebel is a unique on-campus residence option for students admitted to a first-year program by May 27th. Grebel is not part of the first-year residence guarantee and is not listed on the Residence Community Ranking form. If you’d like to live at Grebel, you’ll need to complete an application and attend a personal interview well before May 27th.

Important: This guarantee DOES NOT APPLY if you miss the June 1, 2012, deadline to submit your Residence Community Ranking Form and your deposit.

The residence guarantee does not apply to upper-year transfer and exchange students or to upper-year students with dependants.
