internationalResidence tips for international students

The Waterloo Residences and University College residences have specific dates for moving in. If you're an international student, your travel arrangements may mean that you arrive in Waterloo prior to your residence move-in date.

If you’re in this position, you should follow the instructions outlined by your residence below.

Conrad Grebel College

You're encouraged to look for other housing options – hotels or bed and breakfasts. For more information please go to findoutmore.uwaterloo.ca/visitus/overnight.php or contact Pam Bartel in Student Services at Conrad Grebel University College at pbartel@uwaterloo.ca or 519-885-0220 ext. 24236.

Renison

You’re encouraged to look for other housing options – hotels or bed and breakfasts.

St. Jerome’s

You must contact the Residence Office at resinfo@sju.uwaterloo.ca or 519-884-8110 ext. 28237, at least 2 weeks prior to your arrival, for permission. The earliest that you can move in is 2 days before the official move-in day(s). Because the residence isn’t officially open until move-in day, if you arrive early you won’t have access to Residence common areas, the cafeteria, and the administrative buildings.

St. Paul’s

You’re invited to book a Guest Room in St. Paul’s Graduate Student Apartment Building. You can contact St. Paul's for rates and availability at gueststpauls@uwaterloo.ca or 519-885-1460, ext. 203.

Waterloo Residences

You must obtain permission from your Residence Manager to move in on the early move-in day(s). Your Residence Manager’s contact information is available at www.housing.uwaterloo.ca/contact/staff_dept.html.

If you require a place to stay prior to the early move-in day(s), please contact the University of Waterloo Conference Centre. You can contact them directly for rates and availability at: www.conferences.uwaterloo.ca, accombook@uwaterloo.ca, or 519-884-5400.
