Growing up, you put on theatrical productions for your family. Friends refuse to go to the movies with you because you critique the acting. Centre stage is where you want to be. That's right: you need to study drama.
Explore traditional to technology-based theatre in one of Canada's most performance intensive programs. Study acting, dramatic literature, performance studies, and theatre management. Courses in set design, lighting, stage management, voice technique, and audition techniques prepare you for theatre-related careers.
If you're interested in technical theatre, you'll use Waterloo's 3 theatres for courses and for the department's major productions each year. You'll learn to participate, not just to watch. Our technical students go on to work in professional theatres across Canada.
Explore careers options before you graduate through paid co-op work terms. Apply to Arts and Business co-op and then choose Drama as your major at the end of first year.
