Mathematics is the foundation of many fields of study, such as commerce, computing, engineering, and science. Math is essential for asking many fundamental questions about how our world.

At Waterloo, Mathematics is both its own area of study as well as a gateway to many of our majors in the mathematical sciences. Apply to this program if you enjoy the language of numbers, symbols, and math. After first year, you'll have the choice to focus on one of 13 majors that range from Actuarial Science to Statistics.

As a Math student at Waterloo, you'll benefit from the vast number of courses and services offered by the world's largest centre for education in mathematics and computer science!

Depending on the major you choose, you can gain 20 months of paid work experience through our co-op program, the largest of its kind in the world, or fast track your degree by choosing the regular system of study.
