Study the universe, the stars, and the subatomic particles of which they are made.

Waterloo's Physics program is one of the largest and most comprehensive in Canada, offering you a broad course selection, 20 months of paid co-op experience, and partnerships with some of the biggest research institutes in the world.

Choose to focus your studies in applied physics, astrophysics, biophysics, chemical physics, mathematical physics, or quantum computing.

The Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo and the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, located within walking distance, are at the forefront of global physics research. Both offer public lectures, some by Nobel prize winners, including Stephen Hawking, who has twice visited the Perimeter Institute as a Distinguished Research Chair.
