To accept or decline your Offer of Admission
Follow the instructions on your Offer of Admission:
- Some applicants will be asked to respond directly to Waterloo.
- Most applicants will be instructed to respond through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) website.
- If you have any problems accepting your online Offer of Admission, please call OUAC directly at 519-823-1063 for assistance.
Note: If you've received an Offer of Admission to the University of Waterloo, but wish to begin your studies in a later term, you may request a deferral of your admission. See details about deferral conditions.
Already accepted an offer?
If you've already accepted an Offer of Admission to Waterloo or to a program at another university, and you later decide to accept a different offer, you may do so without penalty up to June 1, 2012. Visit the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) website.
- Follow the instructions to cancel your previous acceptance of an offer.
- Follow the instructions to accept a different offer.
- If the expiry date has passed, you may still be able to accept the offer.
- If clicking on "accept" does not work, or if you haven't applied using an OUAC 101 or 105 application, you'll need to contact Waterloo directly at myapplication@uwaterloo.ca or 519-888-4567, ext. 33106, to see whether spaces are still available.

Residence
Deadline: June 1, 2012
Students admitted to a first-year program by May 29th – to confirm your place in residence
Waterloo Residences (Columbia Lake Village, Mackenzie King Village, Ron Eydt Village, UW Place, Village 1), Renison, St. Jerome's, St. Paul's - Guaranteed Residences
- Beginning February 2012, visit Get Ready 4 Rez to
- Fill out your online Residence Community Ranking Form
- Pay your $500 non-refundable residence deposit
- Tell us if you require special accommodation because of a disability or other special need
- Indicate your interest in a Living-Learning Community
- You must submit your Residence Community Ranking Form and a $500 non-refundable deposit no later than 11:59 pm Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on June 1, 2012.
IMPORTANT: Mark June 1st on your calendar. Because residence spaces are limited and the demand is high, Housing and Residences will not be able to accommodate you if you miss the deadline.
Conrad Grebel – Additional Residence
- Conrad Grebel University College is a unique on-campus residence option for students admitted to a first-year program by May 29th. Grebel is not part of the first-year residence guarantee and is not listed on the Residence Community Ranking Form.
- If you'd like to live at Grebel, you'll need to complete an application and attend a personal interview well before May 29th. Details are on the Grebel website.
- Indicate your interest in a Grebel Living-Learning Community.
Upper-year transfer students
- Contact the Off-Campus Housing office och@uwaterloo.ca for help finding accommodation.

Scholarships & bursaries
Deadline: See individual documents
- Waterloo's entrance scholarship and bursary offers will be sent in May.
- If you're admitted to Waterloo prior to May 1st, your entrance bursary and/or scholarship offer (if applicable) will be sent separately.
- If you're admitted to Waterloo after May 1st, your entrance bursary and/or scholarship offer (if applicable) will be included in your offer package.
- In most cases, when you accept your Offer of Admission, you’re automatically accepting your scholarship and/or entrance bursary.
- Be sure to read the entrance bursary and/or entrance scholarship offer letter carefully for conditions and further requirements.
- If your scholarship is from Renison or St. Jerome’s, be sure to follow any specific instructions included in your offer.

Financial deposits
If you're currently attending an Ontario high school, no Ontario university may require a financial commitment from you until June 1, 2012.
At Waterloo, this includes your non-refundable $500 residence deposit, which is due by June 1, 2012.
If you're not currently attending an Ontario high school, a financial deposit may be required earlier.
