The following dates are for applicants/students admitted to fall 2012.

All applicants & admitted students
| December 2011 - March 2012 | Early Offers of Admission will be made in some faculties. |
| January 11th | Application deadline for Ontario secondary school (OSS) students. |
| February 7th | Applications from Ontario secondary school (OSS) students received after this date will still be processed; however, specific program deadlines will apply. |
| March 1st | Applicants to Waterloo will be sent an email message about Entrance Bursaries. |
| February 29th | Admission Information Form(s) due, unless otherwise specified on your AIF. |
| March 12 & 13 | March Break Open House for applicants. |
| March 30th | Deadline for Waterloo to receive English language test results unless otherwise specified. |
| April 13th | Deadline for Entrance Bursary applications. |
| May 8th | Second semester mid-term marks (for Ontario secondary school applicants) arrive at Waterloo. |
| Mid-May | Most of Waterloo's Offers of Admission for fall 2012 are sent. |
| May 26th | You @ Waterloo Day, special visit day for admitted students. |
| May 29th | Last day to receive an admission decision from Waterloo for Ontario secondary school (OSS) applicants. |
| June 1st | Last day for Ontario secondary school (OSS) applicants to accept an Offer of Admission or to change an earlier acceptance. |
| No Ontario university may require a financial commitment from an OSS applicant before this date. | |
| June 1st - 11:59, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) | Deadline for students admitted to a first-year program to confirm a place in residence by submitting the Residence Community Ranking Form and $500 non-refundable residence deposit. Details are on the Residence website. |
| June 15th | Recommended deadline to apply for OSAP or other financial assistance programs. |
| Mid-June | Register for Student Life 101. Confirm your attendance at Orientation Week. |
| July 9th - 22nd | Quest – Waterloo's online student information system – is reserved for new students to select their classes/check their schedule. |
| July and August | Student Life 101 for incoming first-year students. |
| August 27th | Payment deadline for tuition and fees, including residences fees. |
| September 3rd | Orientation Week for first-year students starts. |
| September 10th | Classes begin |
Accounting & Financial Management
| February 10th | Application deadline for Accounting and Financial Management for students who are not currently attending an Ontario secondary school. |
| March 7th | Deadline for transcripts and English language test results to reach Waterloo. |
| March 12-13th | Invitations emailed for the March 31st writing of the Accounting and Financial Management Admissions Assessment (AFMAA). |
Architecture
| February 10th | Application deadline for Architecture for students who are not currently attending an Ontario secondary school. |
| March 7th | Deadline for transcripts and English language test results to reach Waterloo. |
| March 15th | Invitations to attend an Architecture interview begin to be sent. |
| April 16th - 20th | On-campus Architecture interviews take place. |
| Early May | Architecture Offers of Admission are sent. |
Computing & Financial Management
| February 28th | Canadian Computing Competition (registration February 14th) |
| April 11th | Euclid Mathematics Contest (registration March 9th) |
Engineering
| February 29th | Deadline to submit your Admission Information Form unless you receive the acknowledgment email – Your next steps in Waterloo's admissions process – after February 16, 2012. In this case, you will have 2 weeks from the date of the acknowledgment of your application to submit your AIF. |

| March 1st | Application deadline for Engineering programs, excluding Architecture, for students who are not currently attending an Ontario secondary school. |
| March 30th | Deadline for Waterloo to receive other required supporting documents from applicants to Engineering who are not currently attending an Ontario secondary school. |
Software Engineering

| May 3rd | Sir Isaac Newton Physics Exam (last day to register and order exam is 2 weeks prior to exam date) |
